My Art Department Background
I grew up in a family of builders, fixers, and problem solvers. By the time I came out to film school in 2006 I had already done just about every type or manual labor and construction job you can do. These skills landed me a Production Designer position on a thesis film in just my second session of school. On that Sci-fi short we needed to build both a full size space ship and a miniature. They brought in an expert and I got the opportunity to work with a very experienced miniature propmaker / art director who had worked on many large effects driven studio films such as X-Men and Titanic. I continued to work art department on numerous student productions and while still in school started getting Art Directing jobs on music videos and PSAs. I then moved on to TV and commercials. I have credits as Production Designer, Art Director, Set Decorator, Lead Man, On-Set Dresser, Props, and Set Carpenter. I love creating three dimensional worlds for the characters to inhabit and bringing the words on the page to life.
I am proficient in Synconset and I have a decent working knowledge of Google Sketchup and Adobe CC.
